There is something for everyone at Southport for those who love shopping you have Lord Street with its Victorian Canopied Boulevard. For those wanting some excitement there is Pleasure Land, Splash World, Ferris Wheel & Funland Pier. Down the road are the famous sculptures by Antony Gormley on Crosby Beach. After all the exploring relax in one of the many quaint cafes or bars or a nice walk through Kings Park & Marine Lake.

Southport Pleasureland
This family-friendly amusement park features a variety of rides and attractions from roller coasters to gentler rides for younger children. The park is completely free to enter so you can experience the lovely sights and sounds without spending a penny. There are a huge range of attractions in the park which are not chargeable so can be enjoyed free by everyone including Freya’s Viking Fun House play structure, splash pools and mini-maze.
Splash World
Splash World offers a variety of aquatic attractions suitable for all ages, making it a great destination for families and water enthusiasts. The park features thrilling water slides, a lazy river, a rapid river whirlpool ride and also a bubble spa zone and numerous water showers and features to enjoy.
Farmer Ted’s Adventure Farm
Farmer Ted’s Adventure Farm in Southport is a popular family attraction that offers a variety of activities for all ages. The farm features the UK’s only Shaun the Sheep Adventure, created in collaboration with Aardman, where visitors can meet Shaun and his friends.
Visit Southport Pier
Southport Pier is the second longest in the UK and offers stunning views of the coastline. You can take a leisurely stroll or hop on the pier tram to the end where there’s a café and a small arcade. (Currently Closed hopefully open by May 2025)

Located in Churchtown the Botanic Gardens offer beautifully landscaped gardens, a lake, a café, and a small aviary. It’s a peaceful spot for a relaxing walk. Entrance is free and dogs welcome on leads.
The Atkinson
This cultural hub includes a museum, art gallery, library and theatre. It hosts various exhibitions, performances and events throughout the year. This busy arts centre provides a fun, creative and varied day out and best of all its free!
Hesketh Park
This Victorian park is perfect for a leisurely stroll, featuring a lake, gardens, and a conservatory. There are also tennis courts and a children’s play area.
Marine Lake
It is one of the largest man-made leisure lakes in the UK providing a variety of recreational activities and serving as a central attraction in the seaside town.
Visitors can enjoy a range of boating activities, including pedal boats, rowing boats, and motorboats. The wildlife around the lake and its surrounding area are home to various wildlife species, including swans, ducks and other birds making it a pleasant spot for bird watching. If you prefer you can walk or cycle the perimeter of the lake.
Spanning the lake is the Marine Way Bridge this striking cable stayed bridge provides a scenic route across the lake and offers excellent views of the area. Overall, Southport Marine Lake is a vibrant and cherished part of Southport.
British Lawnmower Museum
A quirky and unique museum that showcases the history of the lawnmower. The British Lawnmower Museum is now one of the world’s leading authorities in vintage lawnmowers and specialists in antique garden machinery. It’s an interesting stop for those looking for something different.
King’s Gardens
King’s Gardens in Southport is a historic and beautifully restored public park located on the town’s Promenade. Covering approximately 17 acres, the gardens offer a variety of attractions and amenities for visitors, including, Nine Grade II listed cast iron shelters the restored Venetian Bridge, which spans Marine Lake and connects King’s Gardens to Princes Park.
Also within the park is the play area known as Tree Top Towers, one of the best adventure play areas in North West England. Other activities include a crazy golf course and a model village. Relax then in King’s Gardens Tea Rooms.

RSPB Marshside
Beautiful nature reserve on the Southport coastline, away from the hustle and bustle of the promenade and tourist attractions. Lovely peaceful walks with lots of bird-life to see. A haven for birdwatchers, this nature reserve offers the chance to see a variety of bird species in their natural habitat. There are walking trails and hides for observation.

Dog owners are encouraged to exercise their pets on the beaches.

Crosby Beach is the permanent home to 100 cast-iron figures that stretch the coastline. These famous sculptures by Antony Gormley on Crosby Beach. Mersey rail do a train into Crosby then it is a short walk to the sculptures (top tip: time your visit to coincide with low tide).
